Dead Images
We were invited recently to contribute to the Dead Images project, which explores the legacy of human skull collection within the Natural History Museum, Vienna. In particular, their display of thousands of skulls collected right up to the Second World War.
The project is one of a number under the EU TRACES initiative and is intended to “explore the philosophical, aesthetic, political and scientific implications of collections of human remains”.
Videos of our thoughts and comments will be compiled along with contributors from around the world and will form part of an exhibition running alongside a conference this June, in Edinburgh. Details of the exhibition and conference can be found here Dead_Images_Edinburgh.
