Graphics Competition

Liberty John, 2023

Competition Announcement

Entries Open 8th April, 2023

Honouring the Ancient Dead works to promote recognition and respectful treatment of the long dead of Britain. This relies on raising awareness of our connections with the past and the often undervalued personhood of the deceased. Too often those who died long ago are valued less than those lost more recently. Too often they are treated as things instead of human beings.

It can be a challenge to find images that reveal our distant forebears as individual people we can relate to, but that is just what is needed. Today we are launching a national competition to create a body of graphics that can be used within HAD’s communications. Some may even be offered to museums to use alongside their displays. We are looking for original art works that shout out the humanity of our ancestors of pre-Christian Britain.
